Breaking Dawn: A Cozy and Unique Residence

A New Start Filled with Warmth and Elegance

The Breaking Dawn residence, designed by Jumu Chiang, is a testament to the power of a fresh start. Inspired by the first light breaking through the darkness, this house brings a sense of warmth and elegance to its occupants. With a focus on merging hospitality and the display of collections, this design offers a unique and cozy living experience.

Unlike traditional home spaces, the Breaking Dawn residence blurs the boundaries between different areas, creating a welcoming atmosphere where every corner is comfortable to stay in. The layout, routes, and visual expressions were carefully planned to merge with the concept of reception, catering to the client's hospitable nature. The absence of main walls allows for a seamless flow between spaces, making guests feel at ease.

The interior design of the Breaking Dawn residence showcases a careful selection of materials. White stone, titanium-plated metal, gray-black veneer, glass block, and wallpaper come together to create a harmonious and elegant ambiance. These simple yet gentle materials reflect the meaning of the house for its occupants, while still maintaining a classic style.

With an interior area of approximately 128 square meters, the Breaking Dawn residence features a living room, an open kitchen and dining room, three bedrooms, and three bathrooms. The design maximizes the use of space, ensuring that each family member has their own independent bathroom and bedroom.

The challenges of limited space were overcome through careful calculations and efficient space utilization. The Breaking Dawn residence is a testament to the designer's ability to create functional and diverse spaces within a confined area.

Completed in February 2016 in Taichung City, Taiwan, the Breaking Dawn residence is a result of meticulous research and attention to detail. The layout, with the dining room and living room near the entrance, creates a unique flow that is not commonly seen in Taiwanese interior design. The shared aisle turns define different spaces, allowing each part of the house to feel independent yet connected.

As one enters the residence, a small cabinet marks the transition between indoor and outdoor spaces, creating an extended look. The use of black tones in the dining room creates a calm and serene atmosphere, while the living room, located in the middle of the house, is bathed in white tones, symbolizing the breaking dawn and exuding warmth. The gradual enhancement of color brightness and shades adds to the comfortable visual effect.

The Breaking Dawn residence was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2020. This prestigious accolade recognizes the design's well-thought-out functionality, practicality, and innovation. The Breaking Dawn residence integrates industry best practices and competent technical characteristics, contributing to a better world.

With its unique blend of elegance, functionality, and warmth, the Breaking Dawn residence is a testament to the power of design to transform spaces and create a new beginning. Jumu Chiang's thoughtful approach and attention to detail have resulted in a residence that not only meets the needs of its occupants but also provides a welcoming and comfortable environment for all.
